This class provides instruction in the English language following the content standards established by the Department of Education of Puerto Rico as identified in the Puerto Rico Core Standards (2014). The content standards are listening, speaking, reading, writing, and language.
In this class students participate in a variety of discussions. They prepare and present projects. They explore and analyze a variety of nonfiction and fiction selections. They expand their vocabulary, including their understanding of literary terms. They review and apply standard grammar rules. Students also write essays based on selected reading selections.
