Observe various occurrences and uses of color in nature, art, architecture, fashion/textiles, film, interior design, graphic design, web design, photography, displays, publications, and digital printing. This course will provide you with the understanding of the evolution of color theory. In addition, the historical and symbolic meanings of color will be studied and analyzed. Additionally, students will explore the psychological aspects of color, and learn to be sensitive to its effects. Students will also gain a basic and practical understanding of mixing color and learn color terminology/vocabulary and how to communicate/define color. This course will also teach color harmony (monochromatic, analogous, complementary, split complementary, and triadic) in a color composition.
